What if Red carried over your FRLG team if you had the cartridge inside your DS? While it wouldn't work on a DSi or 3DS, it would have been a really cool idea instead of just having all starters, gift Pokemon, and Pikachu.

This, the only Pokemon that would vary are the last 2, and the only real options at the time were Kadabra, Dragonite, Tauros, Mew, Zapdos and Articuno (Moltres and Haunter in FRLG)
