and of course anime influenced a lot:
- good season overall, rewatched multiple times, my favorite
- D&P dub was still good, anime dub started going to shit in around gen 6 .. also Dawns dub voice was good
- Dawn was great in it
- good chemistry with Ash, May and other characters
- she was pretty much a co-star, which means she got a lot of focus and stuff to do even outside her contest goal
then much later I checked out the manga and what do you know - Platinum is great there too
