Pidgeot didn't need a Mega either. Just better moves, better stats and better abilities. No Pokemon actually "needs" a Mega, especially since their designs get ruined with thier megas

Chatter is a good move but it’s not enough to save Chatot for most people. I’ve used one in two playthroughs and loved it both times though. It’s a shame Chatot won’t be in gen 8 at all even after the DLC.

The problem isn't killing stuff, that he does really really well with either Sheer force or Mold breaker, the problem is its speed thats just way to mediocre to get good picks.

Playing scarf rampardos is really fucking fun though, but even that wont help much

Fixing his speed would fix his speed. Like adding +30, that would be amazing for Rampardos because it would help him function as a proper revenge killer.

Accelerock would help him, sure. Especially against frail enemies or anything in range to KO but it wouldn't turn him into an Azumarill who has better bulk and a better typing.

Should the remakes come, I'm not expecting them to be good, but it would mean that we'd get the full Gen 4 pokedex and some new forms (maybe it doesn't make sense for native gen 4 pokemon to get regional forms in Sinnoh, but I'd be okay with a Gigantamax form)
