>>44414754A Ranger like open-world like ARK but with Pokémon instead of dinosaurs. You need to gain their trust to use them for different tasks. Some ideas are:
>Racing them with your own pokemon>Fighting them to prove your worth>Feeding a group of them and one of the group becomes thankful and joins you>Fighting off predator (same as above)>Doing tasks for NPCs also awards you food or unique shit to get special Pokemon for later. The cool thing is that you can't catch them forever. You can have only 6 (or whatever feels balanced), and if you get a 7th you have to "release" one back to their habitat. But this is not a goobye forever, because if you go back to it's home it will remember you and offer to join again. This way, let's say you always need to get across some sea
>If you wanna fly over waterYou need to swap for a water/flying like Pelipper
>If you wanna swim acrossYou need a Pokémon that lives in salty water (You can work this around)
>If you need to go deep underwaterYou need a salt water + light Pokémon, let's say Chinchou/Lanturn.
And this way the difficulty of some tasks becomes specific, because if one of the most advanced missions requires you to help a (certain underwater) Pokémon in the deep, you might need water species similar to Lanturn (let's say you can only bond with 1 Lanturn) and thus you have to fetch for them / recruit different species accordingly in other parts of the world.
