>>44495706>Also clashing instrument, the hell? SwSh's songs are actually really cohesive, musically speakingYou genuinely have awful taste, then.
Route 1, one of the most important tracks in any Pokemon game, has so much significant clutter and random instrumentation thrown in that it genuinely just sounds obnoxious:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vK1UmEDynPAOr listen to how chaotic and jumbled the random fucking trainer theme is, literally what you will be hearing for 70% of the game, and everything just sounds out of whack. I genuinely thought something was wrong with my game when I heard it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0LZKtKV3lI >>44497541 and >>44497571 hit the nail on the head, it sounds like some weird shit you'd hear in Ultra Space, or a Gen 4/5 legendary theme which deliberately sounds like shit in order to try and be grand and spooky, except it's actually taking up the majority of the soundtrack for whatever bizarre reason. That's not even going into the battle themes, holy fuck, Hop's battle theme barely even sounds like a battle theme and has a really annoying baseline, Marnie's regular battle theme sounds like a weird gutted remix of her final battle, Avery's mess of a battle theme, Rose's unfitting generic JRPG choirs, Leon's theme is probably the most uninspired final boss theme in any game I've ever played (bro just make the Hall of Fame theme sound really loud then add some crowds haha), and actually most of the game's soundtrack is really uncreative and uninspired and focuses more on being loud than being actually melodic. The only things that sound coherent are the town themes which are boring as fuck for the most part and are just the same song except with different instruments (that fucking motif).
It's an awful OST. Not the worst I've ever heard or anything, but it's the fucking worst in the entire franchise, side games, and you know what, fucking fan games included.
