>>44569647>Does it have Human level sapience and intelligence (or "greater")?That was literally confirmed in OS of the anime an re-iterated in Gen VII. Pokémon all share a common language, even though they only speak in vocalisations sounding like their names (Island of Giant Pokémon, where Ash's and TR's pokémon got separated and from their trainers and helped each other out). Meowth further clarifies that while he understands all pokémon he'd met in Alola, upon seeing Poipole, he admitted he had no idea what it as saying.
>Can it talk or otherwise communicate in a language you both understand?Given Mina can communicate with her Ribombee (which is able to communicate with other pokémon and relay what they're feeling/saying to Mina) and Ash has been shown on numerous occasions he can understand what Pikachu's trying to tell him (not the first time we see a trainer understanding his Pikachu, the surfer from the Pii-kahuna also was able to communicate to some degree with his Pikachu) and really you got to wonder why these arguments still get posted, when it's clear they not only pass it, but the vast majority do so from hatching.
