The bad Pokemon distribution, the fucked up pacing and level curve, barely any important Johto trainers using gen 2 Pokemon, the fact that Johto as a region is very bare bones because of the need to squeeze in Kanto etc.
For the longest time gen 2 was wanked as the best because "muh two regions" and "muh red battle" but as it became increasingly more obvious that gen 2 from a design perspective was an even bigger trainwreck than Red and Blue in many aspects all Johtofags could do in response was seeth in rage. You can already see it in this thread that they can't even present a single good argument to excuse these shitty design decisions and instead have to circle jerk about how everyone who calls out gen 2 must be a zoomer or something. Very sad and insecure people.
