seriously, even if you make a pokemon have 255 defenses it still only takes about 10 good attacks max to kill them if that, imagine any other rpg boss fight taking 10 hits

problem is it's designed as a pvp game above a pve story game, so you can't do too much, they managed to get around this somewhat recently with the boss boosts for sumo and the uncatchable form of the swsh boss dragon

I really would like them to have larger teams earlier on. Half of the non-damaging moves in the game are designed with battles of that length, it's a shame you have to wait until pvp to see their worth.
50%+ of battles should be doubles as well.

This just makes defensive mons even shittier than they already were. Hyper offense is already the way to go with these games.

Anyway, your changes are mostly what enhanced difficulty hacks and it doesn't change anything. RPG difficulty comes from sapping your resources and having you make difficult choices. You're in a dungeon and your HP is low, do you leave and have to deal with all the fights again or do you press onwards to get it over with? What if it pressing onwards is too much and you get wiped out and have to reload a save file? These are the questions a RPG with good gameplay makes you ask but Pokemon doesn't do that.

You can look at other games in the genre to see how they did it, I would not mind at all if Pokemon just ripped off the speed system of Temtem/Nexomon wholesale because it's such an improvement over how Pokemon handles speed.

He literally said he's doing a blow by blow of every route, town, and event that he deemed important. That's 20 something hours of game shortened to 7 hours where he has to think of something to talk about then say it concisely. If joseph hamsterson did a video like this it would be a 5 parter that's 3 hours long where he manages to say nothing of value.
