I don't understand why people are against dex filler as a concept. More pokemon in the dex means more variety in the encounters you will have in the wild at the very least.
Just call "dex fillers" out for what they are, poorly designed pokemon.

Dex fillers are by definition Pokémon who are pretty much outlcassed, unnotable and added as an afterthought to pad out the dex. Not based on opinion of what are “poorly designed”

That's what makes a design poor. I meant the overall design not just the visuals.
Sure, its a pokemon not worth catching, but it adds enemy variety to the game.

I like fish Pokemon. I always look forward to seeing new ones and was actually disappointed when XY didn't really have a traditional fishmon (aquatic things in general are just cool though so no hate for Clawitzer/Dragalge). There are definitely other people who share similar opinions.
There's an audience, there's a market, there's a purpose. Calling them filler because you don't like them is silly.
