Komiya's artworks are much more imaginative, dynamic and expressive than half of the overly polished/3D garbage GF illustrators pump out nowadays.
He exclusively uses traditional media for his pictures and the weird "roughness" of his paintings have a lot of technical skill behind. If Gamefreak didn't force him to adopt a more "normal" style for his most recent illustration those Groudon and Kyogre would have been even weirder, and better too.
Komiya did a much better job than the blurry shit kawayoo made (on his right). His picture has better sense of depth, better color scheme (especially the water) and was obviously made organically, whereas the pokemon in kawayoo's picture were slapped on top of the background after it was finished, which is really lazy and noticeable.
The sun/moon one is genuinely embarrassing too, I don't know who the fuck made that but she should be fired.
