The truth, at least as far as I can tell, is that Hattrene was hyped up with coomers and waifufags, and this is reflected in porn output and popularity, and even here hatterene seems to have enjoyed popularity. As I mentioned earlier back in November of 2019 there were established weekly hattrene threads that were able to reach post and image limit in 2 days or less. Obviously the honeymoon phase ended when hatterene was found out to be a little ayylmao with a big head rather than a curvy witch. Sometime last year those weekly threads stopped and now they're slow and die off. Even on other areas people slowed down on making hatterene porn and while she did manage to snatch two spots on reddit's pokeporn subreddit in all time favorites, all from late 2019, she hasn't shown up much anymore. You usually see the usual suspects show up now.
That poll imo doesn't show anything out of place. Plus it's not like one pokemon dominated in that poll, lopunny was four votes away from taking it all for one, and everyone up to vaporeon could've won that poll since it was fairly close. I'd imagine it would look different if fakemon weren't allowed since they gathered a good amount of votes. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the poll reflects general opinion and based off what I've seen hattrene wouldn't perform any better even if you had a larger sample size. If we tie porn with waifuism you could use reddit pokeporn subreddit as a sample size with over 260,000 registered users and from what I've seen hattrene doesn't show up at the top front page and I've been keeping track since last november.
