I like how the whole gym and league plot is actually part of the plot this time, it's pretty hard to gage why the protags in other games even wanted to fight gyms

i feel like there was actually a good dynamic between the characters also the non wild area areas are actually really pretty and nice to look at. one thing I hated was near the end there was a lot of just battles that kept repeating. like when you had to face that guy that wouldn't let you on the elevator or whatever to get to the rose tower. it was like 5 times of the same battle. extremely frustrating. overall I don't think I hate swsh i enjoyed most of the time I had with it.

Wild area is a neat idea with very poor execution, raids are also interesting but would have been better with suped up UBs instead of Dynamax. A handful of the designs are really good, most are just meh (lots of recycled ideas even between gen 8 mons).
I absolutely hate Dynamax, I hate the removal of old features and pokemon to include it. Honestly even if they removed megas and Z moves and spent some time polishing the games instead of creating this stupid gimmick it could have been good. This gen also includes the worst pokemon and character designs of any pokemon game to date.

Pokemon games have been declining in sales since gen 1, as we know from things like sonic 06, star wars, etc. making a garbage game or movie in a series effects the sales of the next installment more. If I had to guess the next games are going to do very poorly as long time fans have already bailed on the series and newer fans will be disappointed that they can't transfer their pokemon.

I hate that during gyms you have to wear some uniform to participate. Like, what the fuck? I want to show off my customization choices to the world, god damn it. Same thing goes for the outfit you auto wear when riding the bike.

I really liked league cards, both custom and gym leader ones. The gym leader ones gave some background on characters for those that care, but didn't cram their history down your throat by having a character like Bede monologue about how he was an orphan. It' obviously not the ideal way to flesh out the characters, but it's probably the best modern Game Freak could do. Custom league cards were a lot of fun, and I redid mine a few times during my playthrough.

Much like Gen 7, I liked the hype and speculation the most and I firmly believe the game had a strong setting

Literally everything else because GameFreak should have easily been able to top XY in Gen 7 and decided to double down on their retardation for Gen 8.

It's lack of soul in everything, it's so bland and flavorless of a game that I would think it was made in America instead of Japan if anyone asked, it just plays everything so safe to the point of being uninteresting as a whole. The first island of USUM has more character and soul in it than this whole game, even the random npc's feel more polished
