It's pretty obvious Hop, Marnie and Bede are getting the "Hau" treatment. They'll probably only appear briefly at the tail-end of the series. I don't even think they'll be rivals for Ash because by the end of the series Ash will be really strong and I can't see any of them being powered up to his level. Besides that Go took Hop's role from the games with the Wolves and he doesn't really have much else going for him besides being Leon's brother.

Well not counting shipper-autism, one of Ash's few virtues is that he never thinks twice about standing up for a friend, and in Korrina's case it is special because during the series he recognizes her as a rival (and her equal in terms of competition) so the criticism is not only for her, but for both. And more importantly Bea proved her point by defeating them, Ash and Korrina need to improve.

As I said, it's the series I like the most since DP.
The only parts I didn't like was that Ultraguardian shit and the start of the league was that way (just the beginning).

Everything else I love, Lillie being a pokegirl with more development and past. The structure of several episodes focused on a character, showing their background and among other things. From the series being organized sort of like several arcs (each island being one, like Akala, etc.). From the rocket trio in one of their best (and strongest) versions. Of how the pokémons appear in practically all the episodes, having all their own development (some more than others, like Litten).
As Ash was actually exploring something that already existed, everyone there was already a friend and had a past.
About Kukui and Burnet being like Ash's family.
On more serious topics being addressed and further development (such as the battle between Kukui and Tapu Koko and Ash.)

There are several things I haven't mentioned yet.

As long as you can accept Ash's design, SM is better now because now we know what it was about. When SM first started it felt like the saga had no direction and people were like, "Ash is in school?" and didn't understand why the show was the way it was.

Now after seeing the excellent family dynamic the writers built with Ash and Kukui/Burnett and his Alola classmates, it's now obvious SM was a series about family. Ash's Alola family. And the Aether family. And Torracat/Incineroar.

And the themes are related to either the main plot or something we consitently see. Death was present in only two episodes and neither were related to any of SM's main plots. It's like saying OS's theme was about love becuase some episodes mentioned it (like bye bye butterfree) or XY had a theme about haunted houses because 2 episodes were about that. It's a ridiculous claim.

Also one of the dead character was nameless and had almost no backstory, and was forgotten the next episode. It was an afterthought not a theme.

This is like in Air Bud where Bud's original owner, that awful clown guy, comes back and wants to take his dog back but Bud doesn't want to go with him because he fell in with that generic white kid. Did that kid technically steal Air Bud? I mean, probably. But Air Bud is happy and that's what matters.

I can see them cutting the whole "Rillaboom dream" thing from the dub since it literally does nothing to impact the plot at all.

I like Ash and I like Gou as well and I'm glad Ash didn't catch Grookey. He honestly doesn't need one and I speculate down the line once Ash gets further up the ranks he'll start using some of his older Pokemon.

His ultimate would be
1. Pikachu with Gigantamax and Z Move
2. Charizard or Infernape
3. Sceptile
4. Greninja with bond phenomenon
5. Lycanroc with Z Move
6. Lucario possibly with Gigantamax or maybe Mege Evolution

Problem is that it means TR don't have any Pokemon to bond with, and them bonding with Pokemon was always one of their strengths. Sure they technically have Chewtle and Morpeko, but it's not the same.

The definition of a filler is an episode that can be skipped without consequences and whose events aren't referred to or implied in any future episode. I don't see why it shouldn't be used when talking about pokemon anime. Makes it way easier to converse when discussing which episodes are relevant
