i have never nicknamed a single pokemon. my bro mon that goes with me everywhere is the only one that technically has a nickname (and it’s just its pokedex number.) do you nickname your pokemon anons?

Every Pokemon i catch (useless or not) gets a human name from me. I have around 2000 pokemon with names that a human would have. Around 100 are named James

I have nicknametism so if one has a nickname, they all need one.
Also the newer a gen is the more nicknames I have because I can actively remember a time where the english names were not known yet. So all the genwun Pokemon are really difficult to come up with non-shit names.

Since I'm not very good at names I like to steal them from a certain theme when making a team.
For example, in my recent Platnium playthrough I named my guys after Elder Scrolls locations

I never gave a nickname before starting challenges like nuzlockes or things like that. I accepted the nickname rule and forced myself to try it and it was pretty fun so I name every mons now.
It needs lots of general culture to get inspiration so I struggle sometimes but well.
