Ignoring how poorly written this is, the slowness isn't the only issue. There's also all of the HMs and the limited pokedex making going around Sinnoh incredibly boring and taking away some of the usual individuality in team building.

Platinum is my favorite third version. Guess I'm in the minority but I've had any issues with HMs and the distribution is a DP problem only. Platinum has a lot of cool stuff I like using, they even put Scyther in it.

IIRC RSE have 7 and DPPt have 7, but RSE's HMs are also generally more useful and required less often.

3 of are water type moves. Waterfall is literally just a worse Surf in gen 3 and Dive is a charge move that does shit damage compared to Surf. Flash was also an HM and thus irremovable unless you went to the move deleter.
