I wish we could see Lille pouting at Ash for teasing her just like she does in the game when the player chooses to tease her. At least that would have given her more personality and improve her dynamic with Ash considering how one-dimensional it was on SM series.

If Misty appears at all it'll just be for 1-2 episodes. Probably paired with Brock again (instead of appearing individually). I don't know why you're writing a fanfic, the writers aren't going to have her stay for any extended period of time.

It may not occur to you but Ash's current home base is in Vermilion City on Kanto. 70% of episode take place in Kanto. Its not like other series where Ash is traveling on a region far away for Kanto there Misty can only visit him once.

Vermilion City is close to Cerulean city which mean Misty can visit Ash anytime she wants as long as she gets a flying type pokemon as her riding pokemon. Current staff ether waiting for anipoke 25 anniversary or re-designing Misty's character for Journeys. I can expect Brock in another region for Internship but Misty is on Vermilion City.

I'm pretty disappointed, I mean I didn't expect to be thrilled and there have been a lot of returning characters, but Journeys could've really been bringing the whole cast from over the years together to interact and be regular. it would've been neat to see.

You see, I judge character based on what role & purpose they can play in the anime since fictional characters are nothing more than pawns to move the story forward. If anipoke wants to follow the route of episodic anime on floating timeline (Sgt Frog, Doreamon, Crayon Shinchan, Gintama) than the anime needs the main group to have a dynamic group chemistry on per with Team Rocket Trio and a lot of main supporting character with funny quirks that doesn't need character development like Lana.

Ash & Goh's chemistry is decent but not good enough to carry an entire show while anipoke ruined Chloe's potencial by turning her into a generic nice girl with nonexistent chemistry with Ash. That's why the show need quirky supporting character with interesting dynamic with the main due and Misty can actually play a good role due to her original personality and past dynamic with Ash.

Dawn might be my least favorite. she is like a horrible middle ground between boring May & girly girl Serena. Honestly I only really liked Misty, Brock, May/Max, and Iris. Everyone else is, well not exactly hate but meh-tier for me.

Still doesn't change that Dawn doesn't have a dedicated hatebase like other lead girl which make Pearlshipping the best choice for the anime specially if the anime staff knows the actual reason for Amourshippers to choose Serena over Dawn and Lillie.

Shipping isn't annoying, shipwars are, and straight coomers are more repulsed by the idea of ash being gay than getting with the wrong girl (because they self insert). As a fag, I grasp at straws myself naturally to keep invested, I like to pretend most characters are gay if there's a boy I could see them getting with. the difference is that in 99% of cases I know its not the intention so I dont end up breaking down like a pussy if he kisses a girl in the end.

When there's undeniable queerbating but not explicit OTP stuff, like with goh here or like the entire kingdom hearts series, there's always ugly shipwars to follow. Its annoying to see fujo's militantly defending their ship, or have the more canon straight ship feeling insecure & harshly biting back. this shit only happens when the creators push hard enough and play coy enough to make the gay ship actually feasible through subtext. Loud enough that normies (disgusted by homos) can even see its leaning that way, thats the formula that makes a shitty fanbase.

Its when there's an obvious girl love interest but also give the boys enough sentimental/touchy attention to create something that can be believed in. If shippers go beyond that line of fun "I like these characters" and into the realm of "I BELIEVE in this pairing" people get this defensive, religious zeal about it. its awful. they should set up one love interest, or use indecisive angst for drama/storytelling. aimless "will they or wont they" blueballs people & poisons the waters.

Is this what anime did with BW and XY/XY&Z series? They purposely made BW series as worst as possible and then made XY Ash look more experienced trainer that acts like stereotypical fantasy hero with a love interest on XY series to trick fans into thinking the anime "listen" to them when in reality the anime improved nothing and kept all the thing people hated about the show.

Ash was still forced to released his strong pokemon, he still didn't defeated any E4 or Champion, he still won no competition on Kalos, he failed to win the league and he wasn't allowed to defeat his only main experienced rival despite the narrative screamed to let him win

I want Misty to reappear with different hairstyle.
I mean, if she could change her hair like pic related just for a princess festival then she can show up with any short-hair style depending on the length of her hair. She could show up with her HGSS hair style in one episode and then reappear with similar hair style to Serena/Kumiko Oumae/Pyra on another episode. After all Hair style are not fixed, they are flexible.

What is /padt/ opinion on Misty's design on HGSS? Is it good or I am the only one who think HGSS's hair style sucks & outdated

Considering that XYZ Ash went toe to toe with characters like Alain and Diantha, seems kind of idiotic to suggest that XY Ash didn't look like an experienced trainer. Ash lost only twice in his gym matches against a tough Sinnoh tier roster of gym leaders and consistently showcased impressive strategies while doing so.

He defeated nether of them and lost to one of them 3 time. He also failed to defeat a bug gym leader in first try and needed special training. He needed to use 3 pokemon just to defeat the second gym leader's 2 pokemon. He lost to 3 gym leader in their first battle. Ash is also the only trainer in the entire series who lost to ninja Senpei. He even lost to a kindergarten teacher .

In fact, the only notable trainer Ash defeated outside gym leader on XY/XY&Z was a newbie named Sawyer.
But as Warp Zone said, you will ignore all evidence just to maintain the delusion that XY series "listened" to fans like you when it didn't.

Dawn is basically a nice blend of being a girly girl with action heroine traits. It's something we don't get with the other girls since they lean too much into one particular trope (either very tomboyish or very girly girl and passive).

Dawn could have been written like Serena, Lillie, etc. and been very passive and girly but she wasn't written like that.

There is a reason why Serena and Lillie were boring in the anime.
The only reason the game version of Lillie is popular is because of the hardship she endured due to her mentally unstable abusive mother. People always sympathize with character that goes though hardship and cheer for them. But since the anime changed Lillie's backstory on anime so people didn't sympathize with her the same way as game Lillie.

It could have been a good episode for Misty to reappear. After all, Chloe could use another girl as her mentor figure and Misty can act like her cool older sister figure.

in the anime rabbifoot was always quiet and wanting to mind his own business which was very contrast to when he was a hibunny which was dynamic and always wanting to play and later in his teenage years (as a rabbifoot) he was confused and realize there was something different in him he cannot understand but when he evolved into aceburn he became more confident and even enjoying wearing pink colored clothes. he looks almost non-binary but mostly femenine therefore hibunny was an egg and aceburn finally transition.
meanwhile intelleon looks like a sassy queer person and messon being shy and always crying was at a perfect demonstration of a boy who was more in touch with his feelings but misunderstood, the start of his own self-discovery and now as jimeleon being depressed is a perfect way to demonstrate one being in the closet waiting for the right time to come out.

It almost made me cry in this episode because i felt so identified with both pokemon and then Go also is having that coming out story and im glad that unlike what many people do, he doesn't rush it, he allows jimeleon to be ready to come out when he felt confident enough. wow what a great episode i enjoyed it a lot n_n

Clemont in his own parental-brotherly way would just tell her to shut up, keep quiet and stay put). But as Ash is concerned, "Traveling with friends is way more fun!", and would sugarcoat all of this by saying that his friends are unique and have there own personalities, strengths, and flaws. Meanwhile, Serena will become more and more assertive, that you forget she was ever meant for Ash, and is just Female Lead Traveling Companion #5

This is my first time hearing of it, but apparently there's a YouTube channel called Poké-Lun TV that is officially operated by Pokémon Co. From what I gather, it's just YouTubers doing Pokémon related activities and is meant for children. Looking at Nyafuu, this channel has never ever been talked about on /vp/ before despite it being an official part of the Pokémon brand.

I judge character based on the role they can play in the anime and so far I don't see Serena playing any role outside of being a wish fulfillment for shippers. Anything the anime can do with her ether requires Ash to age or only possible on doujin. The anime can Literally replace her with somebody better looking and it won't change a thing.

Even Lillie can play more relevant role in the anime due to her connection with Aether Foundation. She can use her parents company & connection to provide Ash and Goh with various resources and necessary information. Aether Foundation can even start funding Sakuragi Lad therefore turning Lillie's parents into Ash & Goh's boss.

Currently I am more desperate to see the two rivals from SWSH (Not Hop) in the anime, they deserve a main role like all Ash's previous rivals but it seem the show only going to use them for one episode.

Sometime I feel that OLM.Inc get so obsessed with pushing one idea that they ignore everything else even if that idea is not worth it. Example : BW series where the studio was obsessed to resetting Ash and make Trip the main rival despite it being a bad idea . The correct thing to do was return Ash to being an experienced trainer and let him have another full battle against Trip on Battle Club which he wins like a fully developed experienced trainer. But instead the studio decide to push Ash's reset and Trip as main rival on everybody's throat until it killed the entire BW series.

Imagine a scene like this except Ash as Mabel, Goh as Dipper and Amelia as Pacifica.
I think pokemon anime would be a lot more interesting if it adds an "villainess" from Chloe's school as a supporting character. I always find villainess to be more interesting than those Otome heroine and it be cool to have villainess that tries to torment Chloe but Ash & Goh always get in her way.

I can see why one would think it looks dated, along with some of the series early spiky hair in general, but it keeps her pointy top section and I myself like the series silly curls. Team Magma's Courtney does in both incarnations and folks like it with her.

- Misty in the red bikini, with Moe the old man flirting with her
- Mermaid outfit
- Goldeen Outfit
- Doctor Proctor asking her out
- Rudy/Danny
etc.

People act like the fanservice stuff started afterward, Misty actually got a ton of it in Season 1. It was just toned down in Johto because those eps were scripted after Pokemon became a worldwide fad.

Pokemon anime should learn from Keita & Fumi from Youkai Watch. There was no romantic subplot between Keita & Fumi, there was just a gag of Keita having a big crush on Fumi and tries to impress her only for bunch of Youkai to get in the way and ruin his chance. Seriously, why are you so afraid to stay on Serebii? You care about what they have to say considering you're obviously a frequent browser. So why post here? There's only three options.

1: you're banned from Serebii but still addicted to browsing and thus you have to come here to vent your frustrations.

2: you're afraid of replying on Serebii because you can't be "anon" and thus you can't samefag to make yourself look right, and if someone points out you're retarded you're retarded for life. So you come here where other Serebiifags can't hurt you.

You got me. I got permabanned a while back it pissed me off. Why am I banned while serenafags like Adamant aren't?
