Just because a Pokémon is at the top of the food chain doesn’t mean it actually needs a ban.
The Metagame(no pun intended) would have been fine with it staying but smogon just likes to ban anything remotely good( and usually fun to use).
And then those specific mons are banished to Ubers where no one uses them (with the exception of something like mega Salamence which is way too OP lol).
Not trying to start an argument or anything but I simply don’t like the way they handle things.
Mega Lucario is another one that was a stupid ban just because a mon is really good. The list goes on
