IVs are the same, they went from 0-15 to 0-31 but they have the same effect on stats.
And abilities are cool honestly, if you just have to worry about that and not a combination of multiple random factors it's fine.
RB sprites weren't that good honestly apart from some exceptions. Yellow did a good job remaking them, gen 2 sprites were amazing for the most part.
And about artworks, Sugimori's style went to shit, I can't hate him because he made some amazing things for Pokémon, but now he's just bad. I'm sure most new Pokémon would be cool if they were drawn the way they used to be.
But yeah overall it's not nostalgia, I hate when people tell me about my own tastes. What a bunch of faggots.
