Price is an agreement between seller and buyer. Real CIB's could easily be worth that much. Only Pokemon games I have seen go down in value are vanilla Sun and Moon after USUM came out.

Not many people kept their HGSS boxes in good condition, most people lost their Pokewalker, most people damaged or lost or trashed their game manuals. CiBs in good condition are hard to come by, and this is reflected by their price.

Keep in mind, though, that Covid and WFH are still influencing the market, so it's likely that these consistently raising prices across the board won't continue for much longer as more people get back to a regular working environment.

The outer box never had a sticker seal, so "factory sealed" refers to the game case still having the original y-fold plastic wrap on it. It's very possible to exploit this with HGSS
