The fact that it's been sidelined along other mainstays like the National Dex in favor of promoting pump-and-dump gimmicks that don't provide anything substantial like Z-Moves/Dynamax.

They were in Gens 6 and 7 for mainline games, which is what's relevant to the discussion. I miscounted because I forgot gen 2 doesn't actually call it the National Dex. That's still twice as many of one.

When these games were out nobody said that megas weren't coming back but now that they were cut from the most recent game it's just logical to assume that TPC is just going to do whatever they do when a gimmick is cut and not bring it back.

pokemon falls flat on its face when it comes to competitive bullshit, it only got worse with mega. honestly I thought mega was pretty cool for making certain favorite pokemon the stars of the show. some of my favorite mons got a mega form and I thought it was entertaining.
