>>47304553Proportionally, yes I think it's a better, more balanced system that any pokemon that partook in battle get's full EXP, any in your party get half, and it's all individually adjusted based on the level of the EXP gainer compared to the fainted pokemons.
IN PRACTICE THO, the EXP to level ratio was balanced around much slower more gradual system and since they didn't bother adjusting anything, you end up just FLYING through levels through the whole game. level curves in the games haven't been able to keep up since. Like, look at fucking SwSh, you end up so overleveled by the end that they had to put a random 10 level jump to Leon's team just to make him a halfway decent boss, and that really makes me think, if gamefreak programmed that in then they must KNOW the player would spend the latter half of the game overleveled and didn't care
So basically I have mixed feelings on it
