Meanwhile, Clair goes on a stupid rant about how you're "not ready" for the league even though the fact that you just beat her sorry ass means that you are. Then she has the nerve to accuse you of having "lazy ideals" even though in order to even get to that point you had to travel all around the Johto region, defeat several opponents, thwart Team Rocket three times, all while running errand for everyone you met. Anyways, she makes you go into a cave and be interrogated by elders (who even apologize on Clair's behalf and admittedly the test is easy as fuck but it's the principle). However, as soon as you finish, Clair barges in and assumes that you failed and the elders have to threaten to sic Lance on her before she finally gives you the badge she should have given to you in the first place.
Oh and it gets better, remember that easy test that Clair forced you to take? Apparently, Clair didn't even pass it even though the test contains basic shit like "Pokémon are friends" and "Don't cheat". The fact that she failed raises some disturbing questions about how she even got her position in the first place.
But wait, there's more! Her phone calls reveal her to be completely delusional. She apparently thinks her jumpsuit cape outfit is the "latest " fashion, but the reason why everyone talks about is because it looks stupid. Silver tells her that to her face, even Jasmine of all people flat-out calls it "embarrassing" to Erika.
Oh and before the match that started all of this, she goes on and on about how powerful she is, even though her team is literally a worse version of Lance's.
