>>47585440>What makes a Witch a Witch?Strictly speaking a Witch is a woman who is thought to have evil magical powers and is usually antagonistic. There can be more to it then that depending on the story but that's generally it.
No matter what crack you're smoking I think everyone with a brain can understand Gardevoir
>Is not strictly female (even if GF would like to retcon that they still haven't)>Are not antagonistic by any stretch of the imagination>Do not possess abilities that are affiliated with evil magic>Does not have a design or lore that has any resemblance to a WitchIf you're not retarded, then you can thusly see Gardevoir is very obviously not a Witch.
>B-but what's a mage supposed to even look like?A mage is just shorthand for magician
Thus, it's just a fucking magician
Magicians are just people who practice magic and have no set "fashion" associated with them because it's infinitely too broad of a term to really define because it's just "dude with magic".
It can range from the guy in a suit and top hat on stage pulling rabbits out of hats to a dude tricked out with a wizard robe and big grey beard raining fire and lightning down on people who stepped on his lawn
Really Garde is just a Magician by the definition (Person with Magical Powers) but I don't think it drew direct inspiration from that like Alakazam did. It's inspirations are more likely from Medieval Body Guards and Nobility (the cut gender differences for Kirlia would've made this more evident), Ballet Dancers and a Guardian Angel.
