If gen 3 were directed by Tajiri, it would have been the best Pokemon game ever made or that will ever be made.
Hoenn already gets the spirit of exploration down and the Hoenn dex is full of quintessential Pokemon designs, it's just missing the Earthbound-like atmosphere of RBY.
