HOLY FUCK THERE'S NO BALANCE AT ALL.
The game is fine up until the poliwhirl river dungeon. Almost everything is fine there too, except heliolisk. For no reason at all, this mf can two-shot both of your pokemon, at once, anywhere in the room. Razor wind is a very OP move and this guy is much higher level than anyone else. Only way to clear the dungeon is to hope he doesn't appear at the wrong time, because then you're 100% dead.
Okay, so I assume the game get's harder from there, but guess what...
Ampharos gives you the stuff to become an expeditionist, and you go on your first mission to rescue sylveon. They join your party and guess what...
SYLVEON IS lvl 19. The starter pokemon, and enemies are lvl 12. Sylveon ROFLstomps everything, and the mission here get easier, no more challenge even if you dont use sylveon.
Two missions later, you go attack a salamence. It once-shots everyone but in this game you just cheese all bosses with sleep wands. But guess what. It's lvl50! You now have a lvl 50 pokemon in your team, where the enemies are ~lvl 12.
