>>48262457>There are no "gamebreaking" bugs unless you do the specific steps to do them.1-in-256. Ghost not being effective against psychic. That's just naming two.
>You could say Emerald had "gamebreaking" bugs if Gen 1 did.Emerald doesn't have anywhere near as many, nor does it have 1-in-256 or types not working how they should.
>All of that is shit that either weighs the game down or is merely a consequence of the advancement of technology. On the contrary, they enhance the game. The stat system in Gen 1 is broken as fuck and literally lends itself to psychic being the only type worth using.
>That doesn't mean Gen 1 is bad just because it was made 25 years ago.It is a deeply buggy, flawed game with bad mechanics that were surpassed by even the generation after in every possible way, and since remakes of the games that blow the originals out of the water exist in two different flavors, as I said there is one good reason to play them.
>We don't say movies made 25 years ago are automatically bad just because movies made today have better special effects technology. No, but if someone took a movie from 25 years ago and remade it in a way that was objectively superior in every single way, you would.
>People shitpost here every day about the many, many flaws of SWSH, so I don't see why there's a problem with playing Gen 1.Just because SwSh are shit doesn't make Gen 1 good.
>That's why most people are revisiting these older games now, but they can still be enjoyed for their own sake. There is nothing enjoyable about them when better alternatives exist. I grew up with all three gen 1 games, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that when I try to play red version I just go "wow I wish I was playing FireRed instead" and drop it to play the better game. Not even nostalgia can blind me to the deep, deep flaws of Gen 1.
