I ultimately agree though with some reservations. It is somewhat difficult to fit on the team in earlier generations. Highly TM dependent, slow experience group, and being a Water Stone evolution can make it difficult to access in some games. None of this matters much from gen 5 onwards though.

Just give it NP. Things hate switching in front of it thanks to analytics and if you predict right you have a base 115 speed rape machine primed and ready to go. If you really just want to buff it to the point of being silly again give it a tail glow clone like "gem glow" or some shit

That's the angle I was coming from. +3 let's it cleanly 2 hit pretty much anything that would feasible try and sit in front of it. You would probably start seeing scarfers just to try and deal with it but no pursuit means you can just bail
