>>48576938The problem with Pokemon is that, everything is possible due to whatever the writer, director, or storyteller wants to happen or have happen to make their story work. If a writer wants to have a Pokemon like TR Meowth who is on the same level as any human in their world or ours....be on the same level as a human, they can do that and its just fine. Just as in that same setting with that same writer if they want to have another Pokemon of the exact same species (not even evolutionary line, just species) act as a mindless beast or feral animal, they can do that!
You've got a world where there can exist a Pikachu who is directly comparable to human beings in terms of intelligence and comprehensions and speaking abilties but also have another Pikachu who can't comprehend those human level thoughts or speak and for all intents and purposes could be a generally mindless/directionless beast. That level of absurdity is why this debate breaks out so much. Its why I just accept because anything is possible everyone is correct.
