Another anomaly that I imagine is that the pores of its skin are really microscopic, limiting its sweating and therefore not suitable for strenuous physical activities.

Possibly with a body temperature lower than human and its blood is more similar to that of arctic fish, pale and with antifreeze glycoproteins.

Given their extensions of skin and being part of the amorphus, the most similar things I can think of to the Gardevoir line are the humanoid monsters from silent hill with skin that resembles clothing.

This is a good place to start, just look at all the creatures here to get an idea. Plus it also seems to reside on snowy areas or at least equipped to live in such areas as new pokemon snap and arceus suggest

Similar to people skin but a little more velvety. And the red bit in the middle is rubbery. The part around the legs and probably arms too is pretty clearly cloth though.

But they didn't? Gardevoir clearly has a very non-human look. From how thin they are, to they big fat flippers with claws, to their horn spike, big eyes and their face spike. Even their face shape is clearly not human looking, they have a very circular oval face shape with no defined cheeks nor flat like a person's face which I dunno if it's elongated face could count as a snout, I'm not an expert on that.

I know but when people say something like that I'd imagine something in the lines of some very human looking like one of those digimon like Angewomon or Dark Magician Girl. I'm in the camp that people greatly exaggarate how human this Pokemon is because I really don't see how it looks so human. Come on, you know that's not true. A good chunk of it's fan art change quiet a bit about it. Aside from boobs I find one of the biggest changes is to the eyes and it's one of the more notable changes. It's not just changing the eyes to be more kawaii and smaller but also changing the eye position. Gardevoir has a pretty low eye placement, imagine if your eyes were around where your mouth. I think this is one of the more unique and integral part of it's design and it's often done away in fan art.

And you also have all the changes to proportions, limbs and things like that. Changes to the face, most fanart tries to give it a humanish face rather than what it actually has, etc. There's plenty of changes made which is why I personally don't like anthro versions of Pokémon. It's eroding their identity away to appeal to others at the expense of what makes it unique in the first place.

Even this is off model compared to the in-game model kek. Eyes are a bit small, they're also a bit high since Gardevoir eyes are almost near the mouth. I never said it's weird, I like their unique look 2bh.

Its skin hangs off it in large flaps so it's exposed to air on both sides. It would secrete a natural moisturizer in the form of an unctious mucus to keep it from drying out, otherwise it would shed its dried out skin in large, dandruff-like flakes. I would find this more credible if it were a grass type, but as it stands I see no reason to assume anything other than mucus (which serves another purpose of providing protection from the sun to what is essentially very thin skin).

Yeah I figured. The anime had some trouble drawing them from the front at times and they ended up making them look goofy sometimes. Generally I vastly prefer how they look in the mainline games, I think they have a fairly unique look. People like to think they're more human than they really are but a more closer inspection reveals that's not really the case aside from the most basic things such as being bipedal or the number of limbs, aside from that there's not much that could be considered human, even the helmet hair is unique from human hair. I like to say people should embrace more how they look including those big eyes and fat clawed arms that reach past the knee instead of trying to make them into green haired anime girls, which they aren't. For me you can't really beat on-model, no matter the Pokémon. I could see why people do it, like Blaziken's beak, but it's whack.

Proportions... well, sometimes? But i feel most of the time artists don't really give a shit about proportions. It's usually the ones that artists draw in general.
Of course there is some fanart that goes for extra thicc etc, but i'd say it's a minority.

Can't comment on face changes, as canon gardevoir face is not detailed enough for me to make a judgement.

The idea that they have low eyes and protruding faces is really iffy since that’s been contradicted in multiple places, namely Pokken and scenes from the anime.

Nah, that's literally what the mainline models show. The anime is not 100% reliable since sometimes things can look different depending on the scene and Pokken's model is fairly different from other depictions. Generally I trust the in-game models more than other depictions, especially from spin-offs.

I think you're missing the point.
It shares a lot of similarities with 2d anime girls, even some of what you already described.
It is also the most human-like pokemon so far, amd the first in this category.
Finally, gamefreak put it in the egg group "human-like" so suck it.

Their clothes are fused to their bodies, just like with kirlia. They might even be made of skin. In Pokken, the clothing looks visually exactly the same as their skin.
The red part is a horn. That’s also something you can see more clearly in Pokken.

Kanto has plenty more human-like pokemon than Garde depending on what features you think make something "human-like". He's a floating alien with what would be severely atrophied legs and potentially boneless appendages

Don't forget that the ralts line wasn't originally part of the human-like group until this gen. On the subject I find these types of conversations interesting. It's hard to actually pin point the subject because Pokémon doesn't have anything like Digimon or YuGiOh or things that you fine posted in the monster girl general which make it all pretty straightforward. One thing that's funny is how it's the quadruped who have some of the most human like faces out of all compared to the bipedal ones who often have more circular faces.

Some like Meloetta look a bit like stylized humans, nothing stands out as too inhuman and their limbs and proportions look like something you see in chibi style drawings.

It doesn’t matter that it’s a spin off, it still needs to be correct. It’s not like they would have gotten away with misinterpreting the head spikes as tufts of fur. It’s the same situation here. Misinterpreting clothing as skin would be an unacceptably large mistake. There are guidelines.
