does the poke radar work the same way as the original?

also is there a cheat code or something to complete the national dex to get the shiny charm

PokeRadar has some changes but is generally the same. Patches keep shaking until you enter one, but chains can now break randomly even if you encounter the mon you are chaining and you're not on the edge of the grass.

The shiny charm is (possibly) bugged and only works for eggs at this point. It's unclear if it's gonna get fixed or even if it's intentional.

The green statues in the underground give you one extra roll for a shiny for mons that live there. Otherwise, you are stuck with full odds for normal and static encounters.

There's a 7% chance the chain breaks every time regardless of what you do. It's statistically very difficult to get up to 40, I don't think it's even worth it when you can do the exact same thing in the originals with better odds.

In gen 4, the only way the actual target could break the chain was when you entered a patch on the edge of the grass. Chains could still break in perfect patches, but it would just be a different Pokemon.

But in BDSM it seems that random chain breaks can be caused even when finding your target with a full ring of grass around your character.

It basically ruined the entire pokeradar experience.

Kaphotics only said there's a random 7% chance of breaking your chain. He didn't mention it would break from finding the actual pokemon you're chaining. That was not the case in gen 4.

If you have a green 'shiny' statue in your secret base, your chance of finding a shiny in the underground becomes 1/2048 instead of 1/4096.

Other wild Pokemon and stuff like legendaries are always 1/4096, even when you have the shiny charm.

The Radar being garbage also affects breeding. I've atempted a dozen Ditto chains and none reached even 30 (that would've given me a measly 2 IVs). I caught so many regular Dittos that I almost have one for every individual IV.

I've gotten 2 shinies through radar in BDSP. 1 was a Kecleon at literally chain 2 and a Pachu at chain 26. I've never gotten it to above 30 in about 10 hours of hunting.
