I am playing bdsp, but I started my diamond file as a shiny badge quest. I wasn't sure of it until I decided to ask for pearl for Christmas. I'll play pearl for comp, but not until Christmas. So really won't have teams until new year. But I did expect there to be some overlap play of the two games. I understand the hype for the new game, but I don't get the near political opposition to the suggestion that maybe a short break could be planned for multi battles.

I still have about 10 Pokemon I want to EV train before I start battling for real (right now I'm just fucking around with battles, not taking them seriously). Here are some simple ways to handle a Gyarados:
-Switch to a bulky mon that knows T-Wave or Will-o-Wisp. Because 99% of Gyarados DDance when you're in an unfavorable matchup. Burning or paralyzing them turns them to dead weight immediately.
-Switch to a tank that knows Roar/Whirlwind. again, 9 times out of 10, it's going to Ddance
-Use an unaware Quagsire and toxic stall it out or haze away the boosts. Milotic works too, but I think Quagsire is better at it because of unaware.

As a rule of thumb, I think every team should have at least one physically defensive tank and one specially defensive tank to deal with shit like DDancers.

But in a breeding setting your ditto will be the one with the destiny knot and IVs, so why does it matter? Won't the other parent just be the one with the everstone, passing down nature?

You can just use a rare candy at evo level for the rest. The only thing it won’t work on is trade evolve. I’ve yet to see if it retains the sacrificial pokemons unique ID or if it uses the host though. That could be the deciding factor. Yes 100s of hours wasted either way.

Something interesting about the Shiny Glitch. I used Gligar-anon’s shiny Gligar to turn this dragon shiny, and it copied Gligar’s moveset. If this glitch spreads (which it undoubtedly will), expect to see a lot of moveset chimeras in the Colosseum.

Not sure what you mean by Unique Id Number, but there’s no mention of Gligar on Dragonair’s info. The only clue that one is a clone is that they have the same egg received and encounter date. It also has Gligar-anon as the OT (and they changed it back so you can’t nickname Pokemon that aren’t yours originally).

When you do the shiny glitch seen here >>48877343 it copies the most of the stuff over from the legit shiny Pokemon. I haven’t trained the Gligar I used to do the glitch, so it was still Level 1 when I performed the glitch.

With the wrong move set it shouldn’t be but it might work as long as you don’t give that dragonair, dragonair moves. If you give it something gligar can’t learn it shouldn’t be tradable.
