I like Hoenn Zigzagoon more, but between it and both Galarian Linoone and Obstagoon, it's my favorite. Galarian Linoone is a downgrade, and Obstagoon is outright hideous.

It's biggest flaw, which it shares with the original, is that its evolutions can't live up to the standard
Honestly, for as angry people get about the artstyle getting worse over time, regional variants transplanting old designs into new styles have been a net positive

I'm actually using a shiny version of it in my playthrough right now.
I came across it and a shiny inkay in the span of 30 minutes completely unintentionally, I was looking for a normal pokemon that had a 5% encounter rate in the area I was in lmao. Kinda baffled by that luck.

An example off the top of my head is Marc Bolan, he did the tongue before Gene Simmons started doing it and is also one of the pioneers of the genre. Also KISS could directly be the inspiration for the line (though Ziggy Stardust is the reason for the shiny coloration), it's still a reference to the UK because they're a glam rock band, it would make sense to choose the most well known band of the genre.

What exactly did you want them to do with it? It's already Dark and already has an extremely similar color scheme to the design slot, and the G-Zigzagoon line kept their original stats and Abilities and lost the moves that defined the species prior. It's a redundant slot choice and wouldn't improve or change it much if at all.
