- The Pokemon sprays a large cloud of toxins into the air above that then condense into an acidic rain which falls to the earth for five turns. All poison type moves also gain 20% chance to poison (stacks if already having a chance to poison). Steel is now super-effected by any damaging move with 'Acid' in its name, and under Acid Rain steel now only resists poison rather than being immune.

It's only 80BP if you attack physically, otherwise it does no damage. Like kings shield. It's effective, but quickly becomes predictable. It's perfect for a single takedown which is the whole point.
I wanted more bugs to have the paralyzing toxin but most bugs simply don't have paralyzing venom. I took out Beedrill from the list, but not for balance so it could happen again. Most other bugs get compound eyes and powder moves so they're good, I wanted to help the physical attackers without powders.
And all the weather's boost your own team, poison needs it's own style so forcing switches and nullimg wall types is great. Plus if your opponent has a poison type they can turn it against you as effectively. Tested tried and true, because I originally had it doing EXACTLY what you suggested and it just didn't work as well. So giving poison the force switch gimmick works great because it stacks perfectly with stuff like statuses and hazards, and makes poison a lot more fun to run.

Trust me when I say I tested the moves a lot (over about a year) and they're pretty well balanced. Accuracy is pretty annoying but it's only 5pp (I realize I forgot to edit the text page I copied this from so it still says 10pp but I've implemented it as 5 to avoid spam), and gives more purpose to moves like sweet scent or foresight and mind reader and all that fun stuff. Plus most mons that get it are hurt by sun which is what helps the move, and they don't get stab either.
