It's because Southern Kalos fags were BTFO when instead of Z the next games were revealed to be Sun and Moon so they had to grasp at straws that Southern Kalos somehow must be a post-game region you travel to after you finish with Alola even though it was obvious to everyone with half a brain that GF was leaving XY/Kalos unfinished and moving on.
