First of all all pokemon games are piss easy, this isn’t a question.
USUM doesn’t have any “decently challenging parts”, the final battle is against a rival that uses the starter weaker to yours and your new rivals use a grand total of one pokemon.
PLA has no “decently challenging parts” at least not any that involve the exp share, and you can overlevel Volo by playing normally, infact if you only ever use the same 6 pokemon you will overlevel harder than you do in the regular mainline series games with forced exp share. Not only that, the grit shit makes your pokemon ludicrously overpowered compared to anything that can pose a threat to you once maxed out on a pokemon, even alphas.
Finally, the problem isn’t the exp share itself but rather the fact that none of the fucking games, not even your precious PLA, are balanced around it. None of the challenges each game provides are balanced around it. Look at games like sword and shield or bdsp, the gym battles and champion battles in those games are actually challenging and its all trivialized by the fact that you are always guaranteed to be several levels higher than what the challenge was intended for. This happens because if exp share not halving your exp across your team like its supposed to but rather boosting the exp gain you get by half of the value of exp you get five times over. The problem is further excabrated by friendship boosts and it is already known that the playtesters to this game don’t even test out things like the level curve.
