When are zoomers going to accept that Kanto IS Pokemon? They are the most recognizable characters in the brand, and attempts to get away from them have failed.

Red & Blue sold 9 million more than even Gold & Silver. And that was for the longest time by far the 2nd best selling game in the series.
Why is it so difficult for /vp/ and quite frankly, the rest of the Pokemon fandom to understand this. Pokemon fans might just be the only ones that absolutely despise their series roots. Not even Sonic fans get this upset about Green Hill Zone.

It's not about despising the series' roots. It's about pandering to Pokemon that already popular like Charizard, Gyarados, and Gengar. Why not give a new form to an underrated Kanto Pokemon like Hypno or Dewgong, rather a sixth or seventh form of Charizard?
