I would let the merch continue to do its thing, but place a heavier emphasis on expensive limited edition rare collectors items. I would also create a "bespoke" collection that would be customizable with data from home and the games. Example: a gold plated hall of fame plaque with your team and trainer on it.
I would make an official card grading, buying and selling platform, in order to gain a cut of the after market.
I would mandate that ash anime becomes shorter, and after the ash anime season wraps it is followed by a different anime that follows the events of that regions games.
I would end the concept for generational releases, and instead virtually every game will introduce between 1 and 100 pokémon, depending on its positioning, including form changes, regional forms, new evolutions etc.
I would mandate that main title releases be extended to a 4 or 5 year cycle with DLC and expansion packs. This means no more releases on a console that's on its way out.
I would have mini and party game systems for pokémon home, available in DLC packs. I would create VR and apps that integrate with pokémon home as well.
I have many other ideas. I honestly think that pokémon is massively under utilized.
