Then, I got to route 2. I caught a charging Makuhita and placed it in the back of my party. I was then challenged by Beauty Krystal, who had a Gastly with mean look.
I remembered what made me quit the game. In my old save, I put Makuhita at the head of my party and spammed sand attack while under the effects of mean look. I was essentially stuck, with Makuhita being unable to damage or escape and Gastly being unable to hit.
