My switch arrived yesterday and I’m past the first gym

BW and SM were a little to contrived IMO. The plot lost grip on why pokemon is great

Meanwhile SwSh gets back to the simple formula that made RB, GS and XY so great

Okay let's say they are really good (they are okay but let's pretend) say 8.6 out of 10 if you ignored the dexcut. Factoring the dexcut in they would deserve a 3.6 or 4.3 because it's that anti consumer.

Tiny barren corridor of a region
Annoying characters
Stupid story
Ugly graphics
Laughable size-scaling when the regions main gimmick relies in it
Broken following mechanics
Piss-easy even for a pokemon
No identity outside of curry and CHARIZARD
Unfun unblanced meta game which makes the QOL changes to entering competitive completely pointless
They left a fucking cursor in the end video
With the Dexcut it doesn’t even count as a game. 1/10

Gen 8 did some neat QoL stuff.
Like TRs, making the more useful moves a single use item that you can grind for and
leaving the more shit/useless moves for the infinite TMs was a nice middle ground between pre gen 4 and post gen 5 TMs.
Having content like max raids where you can grind items was something that Pokemon was missing i think.
Maybe Exp candies in addition to rare candies is a little OP but it's nice for training post
game/competitive mons.
Mints were cool, maybe too easy to get in s/s but the idea is nice.
Making Gold bottle caps grindable was... actually idk how I feel about that...
Not having finite gold caps is cool but making them as easily obtained as they were in s/s was maybe a bad idea.
Transferable egg moves was a little too much...

These QoL changes are nice but were way too over powered in s/s. Literally the only reason to breed now is shiny hunting using the Masuda method.

Haven't played it yet but it looks like Let's Go for Zoomers. Just catch a bunch of the same Pokémon without battling over and over.
