It would have been special before the split.
The real problem is that special attackers lost coverage unless they were shillmons or KANTOOO.
Also, it makes the idea is even having two attack stats pointless because coverage is available for both physical and special attack.
Maybe if there were moves that used both attack and special attack some pokemon having balanced attack/spa would would have a niche.

Mixed attackers are still useful as wall breakers. The real problem is speed completely invalidating certain Pokemon because they're 1 bp too slow.

Completely forgot it was a gen 2 move because it sucked back then.
But still, the only Dragon move in gen 1 was a breath attack. And they were apparently not keen on changing the offensive categories of any types going into gen 2.

There's not an infinite supply of meteors in space. The meteors are conjured up via magic, just like the rocks in moves like Rock Slide and Stone Edge. Plus there's the fact that they do Dragon type damage, not Rock type damage and are fucking purple.

Like Metagross. It may be immune to poison, but it still getting hit by Seviper's tail. Honedge is not intangible (it's literally a sword) so of course it gets hit by Quick Attack.

We have logical stuff like this, then we get retardation like this, where Mega Altaria is arbitrarily immune to Dragon Rush even a though 474 lb fish-dragon-thing still physically rammed into it at 40 mph.

Yes, but Pokemon conjure them up. Either by spitting out an orb of Dragon-type energy that splits into "meteors".

Pokemon have been depicted as magical beings who utilize elemental magic (aka "types") in their attacks for over 20 years, yet there are still "fans" who don't understand this.

If that was true, humans could fight against pokémon and Arceus wouldn't need a special plate to return to its Normal-type form.
Normal is just as elementally charged as Fire or Fairy, just that it's an altogether more mundane flavour of elemental power.

He's not bullshitting, Pokemon canonically utilize elemental energy that flows through Chakra Points into where they need that energy to go (teeth for biting, fists for punching, etc.) in order to execute the move. That's why a human, no matter how strong they get, can NEVER utilize a Karate Chop the exact same way a Pokemon can, because they lack that elemental energy.

but they can. You do just that in PLA. The only time you HAVE to fight with your pokemon is during story battles. Every other encounter you can just throw mud, spoiled fruit and sticky ...whatever the fuck a sticky glob is... until the pokemon stops fighting you and stays in the ball

Yes, to stun them. You can't actually do any damage to them without sending out your own Pokemon. Meanwhile, their attacks are lethal to you.

Humans have a clear elemental affiliation, even if they can't actually use the energies to form attacks though (Psychics and Blackbelts are the obvious ones, but Misty's described as being as good a swimmer as a mermaid/Primarina and Firebreathers and Digging Maniacs exist too).
It would come down to the person's own individual elemental affiliation to determine which would be a x2 in bed.
