>>50185900It forces you to always have to have an answer to those specific strategies, which limits teambuilding because otherwise you might just auto-lose. Shit like Dragapult is strong, but a decent player can play around Dragapult if they have a poor team matchup. On the other hand, take Dracovish. It only clicks one move 99% of the time but that move is so fucking insane powerful you basically needed an immunity in order to not lose at least 2 mons for free. Thus, everybody ran Seismitoad, even more so than people ran Dravovish, because the fact that you COULD run into it was enough to warrant its usage. Seismitoad is pretty ass but it got so much usage solely for the fact that it could beat Dracovish (and click Rocks, but there's like 30 other better rocks setters.) When Dracovish was banned, Seismitoad disappeared.
Full Baton Pass teams are extremely gimmicky but basically free wins if the opponent doesn't happen to have the tools to handle them. Swift Swim/Drizzle ban is usually seen in older tiers, when weather is permanent and theres less overall options to deal with it by virtue of less mons/items/moves.
