Well I like their designs. Blaziken's actually one of my favorite starters, and I'm just sentimental towards Swampert after playing through Alpha Sapphire with it.

Unironically the best starter trio. I started with gen 5, and gen 3 starters are the only ones I can actually name off the top of my head. Gen 4 has empoleon and infernape but I couldn't tell you the name of the grass one, I want to say tortuga. Gen 5 I can name but it took me a minute to remember emboar and superiors names. Gen 6 I has greninja and I couldn't name the other two if you held a gun to my head.

Basically besides gen 1, gen 3 is the only trio that I immediately recognize and know their names.
