i was stunned when i found out weavile was 2 entire generations later it's just such a natural followup they look like they came from the same sketchbook

The entire Johto dex is a mess in my mind, in every way. A ton of Kanto mons and a few Hoenn mons feel like they should have been in Johto instead, and most of the actual Johto mons could be from anywhere.

Same, I feel like it might also be because Magearna looks weirdly similar to Diancie. I mean, they kinda have similar bodies...I think? They're both fairy types.

Found that out playing Platinum a few months ago.
gen 3/4 mons blend together for me unless they're really distinct like the cross gen evos or things like ludicolo and shiftry.

I've never made this mistake with any normal mons because I'm not brain damaged. I've barely even played generations 7 and 8--I cannot even name half of the new mons in the latter--but I've still never made this mistake.

I could only ever see myself fucking up with the mythicals because they are released so late into generations. This little fucker is supposed to be gen 8 right?

Thought skarmory, maril, wabaffet, and slugma we're all hoenn Mon, to be fair I was like 12 and could barely remember my crystal playthrough vs me playing Pokemon emerald over 30 times
