>>50694867The biggest offenders for me are some combination of:
- HMs still feel like shit. and can't be easily removed. There are a few ways to fix this, even. You can make them deletable via any moves on level up or TM/HM, make them stronger/give them a type so they aren't useless (Clover does this with Flash), make them useable in the overworld without forcing you to teach them to a mon, or even just include a special item that "cuts trees" or "pushes boulders."
- Limited use TMs. It's not a hard fix, but some romhacks STILL have this issue. One time use Xdddd.
- Mega evolutions, dyna/gigantimaxing, Z-moves. I really don't like any of those at all.
All I truly want in a romhack, which, is apparently asking for a lot, are:
- Preferably fakemon only (I play new Pokemon games for NEW Pokemon, not old ones every time).
- If not fakemon, I'm ok with "rebalanced mons/altered movesets" as long as it helps out shitmon so I can play with new teams and not the same shit every time.
- A unique region (or at least altered region with some occasional custom locations).
- Infinite use TMs (usually a norm, but some romhacks don't have this and it sucks).
- Abilities. Playing romhacks based on older games, even when they are mostly solid (Fool's Gold, Quarantine) lose a lot of their appeal overtime with the lack of abilities for me.
Personally, Clover is my all time favorite hack and nothing is even remotely close, but that's because it nails everything right for the most part. I have very few issues with it. Even the fakemon are mostly solid, though some are just lame/unfunny designs.
I'd really like to try some of the nicer looking fakemon romhacks, like Vega, but, last I remember, it has a few of the big flaws I hate, especially 1 time use TMs. Are there ANY other fakemon games you anons might be able to recommend me otherwise? Thinking I'm out of luck here.
