>>50756212In my opinion Hoenn doesn't really have any hateable or even just meh starters. I think gens 2, 5, and 8 fall in the meh category, while maybe at least partially gens 1, 6, and 7 fall in the, let's say, divisive category. On top of that I think you could argue the gen 3 starters are just plain great. I think the Hoenn starters are close to having this level of appeal, but not quite. I'd even include Kanto's starters, but of course Zard gets a lot of hate.
