Most of the logic of his moveset was "the moves sound cool and look cool when performed in Stadium" but I did give it ice beam to deal with Lances Dragons.

Unironically, that's not a bad moveset for ingame play.
Hydro Pump, Hyper Beam and Blizzard are strong moves that hit pretty much everything at least neutrally and Surf gives you a solid, reliable move when you don't want to waste time with a miss.

I really miss this. IMO Gold and Silver are the only games that did wandering pokemon right.
They are catchable way too late in crystal and in other games they make it even worse by making it post-league content.

For double battles with Lightning Rod Timid Raichu, first turn opener. Fake Out, then have Raichu use Rain Dance. Have Blastoise Fake Out whoever is likely to come for your Raichu. Items can be whatever, just nothing too gimmicky.

I doubled upon on STAB moves for all my mons back in the day. PP was at a premium, you couldn't restock on elixirs/ethers, and I hated the idea of needing to keep running back to the pokecenter just to restore PP.

I can't imagine that Eviolite would make Ivysaur better than Venusaur, but I did experiment with the concept with Bayleef, who gets slightly higher defenses over his evo. He seemed to fare a bit better than Meganium but I don't know if he technically does since he has less HP.

The roaming Pokemon are available at the exact same time as in Gold and Silver you retard. All they did was make it so Suicune wasn't a roamer anymore.
