Both are umbrella terms for any type of animal, with more specific terms (e.g. "scalies") existing.
Pokémon are equivalent to animals; they clearly lack human rights, and consumption of them is socially acceptable. Therefore, wanting to fuck a Pokémon technically does not make you a furry; it means you're into bestiality.
There's a valid argument to be made that attraction to fictional creatures that are based on humans is not equivalent to attraction to animals. It is in the Pokémon world, but not necessarily the real world.
It is canon that the vast majority of Pokémon lack human intelligence that might otherwise entitle them to human rights, and therefore there's a further argument about whether or not they can even give consent in the first place.
