>>51241928To be fair, at the time there were exactly ZERO instances of anyone getting their console permanently banned from any 3DS leak in the past, including Pokemon and other Nintendo first party games. There was absolutely no precedent, piracy was completely rampant and unpunished at the time SM came out. Nintendo coincidentally decided to start dropping the hammer when it leaked, and they didn't stop after.
It's easy to see everyone who got banned as retards due to hindsight, but it was a complete shock to everyone in the CFW scene that Nintendo even did anything at all, most believed that they literally couldn't because of review copies existing and shit.
