That is some very vague criticism. I can see calling it generic, because it is supposed to be a starting point from which a bunch of other stuff evolves, but that is not the same as bland. Do you mean that it isn't detailed? Well, not every detailed design is a good design and not every simple design is a bad design.

How would you have designed Eevee differently? I think the dude who created Eevee did a good job creating a generic "mammal" style that is pretty cute and feels very distinctively like a Pokemon, with its fluffy neck and tail.

I liked eevee since I played pokemon yellow. Vaporeon, umbreon, espeon and sylveon have great movesets and are viable in a competitive team. I love the porn but it doesn't mean I like it just because of that.

I don't have any memories of Eevee at all and have never been attached to it.
Psyduck is pretty popular in Japan and apparently they thought of making it the other Let's Go mascot, but didn't want two yellow pokemon. I guess Eevee's popularity if being able to transform to multiple different mons
