I can guarantee you, they didn't change shit, when they don't give a fuck about the witterings of the west (it was Pokémon Company USA, as TPCi was then known, who went to OLM and said "make this look like Ash didn't kiss a pokémon", Game Freak still put pokémon/human asides in their video games and TPC (the Japanese company, not the international arm) propagate that mentailty as well.
